whazzzz up!!!!!! Thanksgiving day is coming up do you celabrate the thanksgiving day in Brazil? If so, how do you celabrate, and what kind of foods you cook?( am I courious of food too much?) by the way, happy thanksgiving!!!!!!
Well, Thanksgiving is not part of our celebrations. In fact, it is an American culture tradition. However, as we are part of a Binational language institute, we celebrate the occasion as part of the language learning process. You cannot learn a language without knowing about its cultural context.
So, then, next Thursday there are no classes at Casa Thomas Jefferson. It is a recess for us! All CTJ, teachers and the administrative staff, gather in a huge and delicious lunch in which each one of us prepares a culinary specialty to be served during our feast!!! After that, we have to exercise the whole week to burn the calories gained during the party. It is the time when we meet old friends that work in different branches and thank for the nice life we have. There are typical American dishes, like roasted Turkey, as well as a variety of homemade food prepared by all of us. I promise to take some nice pictures and show them to you soon!
By the way, Chong, as I know you're into Culinary Art, today I'll be part of a group to learn techniques to make some special dishes with a famous chef in Brasilia. I'll tell about this experience tomorrow!
