You're right about Mr. Oliver. He is a really nice person and I really appreciate him.
About me:
I came from México almost two years ago and I did it without thinking about it. I had just finished the university, and my mom was coming here for vacation and I wanted to come with her and learn about this wonderful country.
Later, I started studying English. At first, it was really hard for me. This was my first time to live away from home, so I missed my family, my friends, my city, and the food. Another hard thing for me was that I couldn't talk with anyone. Today I can do this a little, but when I arrived here, I didn't know how to say anything in English.

So, Esmeralda, you've accomplished many things since you arrived in the US! Now you can speak English and you're at College.
What are your plans for the future? Do you want to stay in the US or return home?
Hope to hear more from you.

Dear Carla,
I came to the U.S. to live a better life.
My plans for the future are to learn English very well.
One difficult part of living in a foreign country that speaks English is the language!
What do I miss most from my home country? – My family!

Hi, Carla.
Thanks for your comments.
About your questions:
I decided to move to the U.S. because I got married to a Cuban guy.
My plans are to take care of my unborn baby, and next year I will probably come back to school.
The only difficult part about living in this country is the language because I come from a border city and the living is pretty similar.
The only thing that I miss very much is the food: you know, the Mexican food in the U.S. is very different from the Mexican food in México.
